Introduction

Oregon is a beautiful place. The mountains, forests, and beaches are just some of the reasons why it's so popular with travelers. But there are so many more! These are just a few of my favorite spots to visit in Oregon.

Travel to Oregon!

Oregon is a great place to visit for its natural beauty, outdoor activities, and fantastic food. In fact, Oregon has been named one of the top four destinations in the world by Lonely Planet readers! In addition to having some incredible nature-based attractions—including Crater Lake National Park and Mount Hood—Oregon also offers plenty of opportunities for adventure-seekers. There are thousands upon thousands of miles of hiking trails through forested areas or along waterside cliffs; many cities have bike paths that allow cyclists to enjoy all that Oregon has to offer while avoiding traffic jams.

There's so much more than just hiking and biking in Oregon, though; there are countless festivals throughout the year that celebrate everything from film (Portland International Film Festival) to wine (Willamette Valley Wine Festival), not to mention plenty of other special events like The Biggest Little City Blues Festival or Bend Brewfest (one of America's biggest craft beer festivals).

See the Crater Lake

The Crater Lake is located in Oregon and is the deepest lake in the United States. It sits inside a volcano that erupted 7,700 years ago, which formed the caldera—a circular-shaped depression in the ground where volcanoes erupt. The Crater Lake is 1,943 feet deep and has an average temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5° Celsius). The water's high sulfur content gives it a blue/green color, which makes for some fantastic photos!

Go to Medford

Medford is the county seat of Jackson County and has a population of about 76,000 people. Medford is named after Medford, Massachusetts, where its founders were from.

The city was originally named "Big Bottom" due to the marshy land around it when settlers first arrived in 1846; however it was later renamed in honor of its original namesake.

There are several colleges in Medford including Southern Oregon University, Rogue Community College and Chemeketa Community College.

Visit Volcano Park.

Visit Volcano Park.

Volcano National Park is the crown jewel of Oregon's geologic offerings. It's home to Lava River Cave, a lava tube that stretches up to 1,000 feet long and is open for guided tours year-round; Paulina Falls, an impressive waterfall that flows into Paulina Creek; and the Newberry Caldera, where visitors can explore remnants of geologic activity over tens of thousands of years ago. The park also offers visitors a chance to learn more about the area's climate and history through its exhibits at Crater Lake Visitor Center or by taking one of many ranger-led activities like hikes or campfire programs at any time throughout the summer months.

Explore Portland

Portland is a great place to visit. It's also a great place to live, work, and play. There are plenty of things to do here: you can see the city from above on Mt. Tabor or walk through Forest Park and learn about its history at the Audubon Society of Portland's Nature Center. If you're feeling more adventurous than usual, take advantage of our outdoor activities like hiking in Forest Park or biking along the Willamette River Trail. There's also plenty of shopping available—we've got Powell's Books (the nation's largest independent bookstore), Voodoo Doughnuts (home of the legendary Maple Bacon Donut), and many others!

Get some fresh air at Timberline Lodge.

The Timberline Lodge is a popular destination for skiers and hikers alike. It's also a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet getaway from all the hustle and bustle of Portland, Oregon. The hotel offers both indoor and outdoor activities, so even if you're not comfortable in the cold weather, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself without having to leave the property!

Conclusion

There is so much to see and do in Oregon. From the Pacific Coast to the Cascade Mountains and everywhere in between, there are many beautiful places to visit and explore. With so much natural beauty, it’s easy to see why this state is such a popular destination for visitors from all over the world. Whether you want to go on a road trip or hike through nature trails, there are plenty of things that will provide entertainment for everyone who visits!
