Introduction

The state of Louisiana is one of the most culturally rich places in North America. It's home to a truly unique blend of African, Caribbean and European cultures, which have blended together to create a unique cuisine, music and way of life.

New Orleans

New Orleans has a rich history and culture, which makes it a popular tourist destination. The city is located on the Mississippi River and has long been an important port for shipping goods between the United States and South America. New Orleans' most famous export is jazz music, which was born there in the late 1800s by African Americans who were brought to Louisiana as slaves.

The city has also seen its share of hard times: It was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and suffered major damage again during Hurricane Rita just one year later. However, New Orleans has recovered from these natural disasters better than many other cities could ever have imagined; today it remains one of Louisiana's largest cities with an active port where cargo ships dock regularly to pick up or drop off goods destined for all over North America as well as some international destinations like Mexico City!

Lake Pontchartrain

Lake Pontchartrain is a brackish estuary located in southeastern Louisiana. It's the largest freshwater lake located entirely within the continental United States and is popular for boating and other recreational activities.

Lake Pontchartrain is fed by the Mississippi River, which means that it has two sources of water: rainfall runoff from land and seawater from the Gulf of Mexico. This makes Lake Pontchartrain's water levels fluctuate throughout the year—they're highest during springtime when runoff from rain increases; they're lowest during summer when evaporation causes them to drop even lower than their already low wintertime levels.

Cajun Country

If you’re looking for a vacation that offers more than just the typical beach or ski getaway, Cajun Country is a great option. The food is amazing and there are many places to visit. Some of them include:

  • The Tabasco headquarters in Avery Island - Want to see where the famous hot sauce is made? This is your chance!

  • Nottoway Plantation – Explore this historic plantation and learn about its past. You can even take a guided tour through it if you want!

  • Louisiana State Arboretum - Whether it's summertime or winter, this arboretum has beautiful scenery all year round. Enjoy walking trails and exploring various gardens while listening to music by local artists at their annual Jazz Festivals every spring (March) and fall (October).

West Louisiana

West Louisiana is the westernmost region of the state and includes the towns of Shreveport, Bossier City, Monroe, Alexandria, Lake Charles and Lafayette. West Louisiana has a unique culture all its own thanks to its French heritage and Cajun influence. You’ll find plenty of good food here as well as many festivals throughout the year. Take some time to explore this area during your trip through Louisiana!

East Louisiana

After the Louisiana Purchase, many Americans traveled by riverboat to explore their new territory. New Orleans was a popular destination for travelers because it was the largest city in Louisiana and had numerous attractions. Today, you can take a cruise on the Mississippi River and visit some of these same sites.

You can also learn about life along the river in East Louisiana at:

  • Ponchatoula - Visit Jourdan Plantation and learn about its history as a cotton plantation before it became a popular resort (it’s even said to have inspired Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Gold Bug”).

  • Lafayette - Visit L'Auberge Casino Resort, which features luxury accommodations, restaurants and bars; go horseback riding at Cypress Trails Riding Stable; or visit The Chimes restaurant to enjoy fried oysters and other local favorites.

  • Natchez - Take in views from atop Fort Adams at Fort Adams State Park; see historic homes such as Morning Mist Plantation and Oakleigh Garden & Inn; or take part in one of many annual festivals throughout the year (including Jazz Fest) held here each year since 1970!

Takeaway:

This is the most important part of your talk, so don't forget it! The takeaway should be memorable and interesting to your audience. The takeaway should also be specific to your audience. An actionable takeaway is important—let people know what they can do with what you've taught them.

A good way to think about a good takeaway is like this: imagine your audience has just sat through an hour of someone talking about some topic or idea that's not very interesting or relevant for them (like watching paint dry) and then suddenly, at the end of your talk, you say something like “Now go clean up after yourself in the kitchen”—what would happen? They'd probably leave immediately! That's why it's important that when you give a presentation or speech, whatever your main point is must be understood by everyone in order for them all to benefit from it

Conclusion

Louisiana is a beautiful state to visit. It has a rich history and culture, as well as many exciting tourist attractions. We hope that this travel itinerary will help you plan your next trip to Louisiana!
